CID | The Long-Awaited Shortlist for the CID Awards 2019 are Finally Announced!

After an agonizing week and a half of teasing and constant refreshing of the CID Events page, all shortlisted categories are finally out! This year, Swiss Bureau is thrilled to have found ourselves on three of the shortlisted categories.

With more than 400 submissions across 18 categories from 120 diverse companies in the Middle East region, we are proud to announce our project for Revonic, one of Dubai’s new leading digital agencies’ head office has been recognized in the category of Interior Design of the Year: Office.

Revonic hired us to create an office for its team of digital strategists working with the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Fly Dubai, and Emirates. The brief given was to design a bold and creative office reflective of Revonic’s culture. We brought this idea to life with an “urban and jungle” concept, which incorporated their desire for a messier, more industrial feel throughout the creative space. This concrete jungle is visualized through stylized urban pop art set against concrete textured walls, as well as biophilic design.

Earlier last month, Project Revonic was also honored in London at the International Property Awards Dubai 2019-2020, bringing home the Five Star Award for Best Office Interior Design.

In the Interior Design of the Year: Public Sector, our recently completed project for the Dubai Creative Cluster Authority has been respectfully shortlisted for the upcoming Awards ceremony as well.

The newly designed Dubai Creative Cluster Authority center, located in Studio City in Dubai, is a customer service center where applications and drawings for building works are reviewed. Crucial to the design of the space was to ensure a smooth flow of people throughout. The space has been zoned to have three distinct spaces: a main customer zone, a meeting zone and a private work area, which can double up as a co-working zone after hours. An elegant minimalist color palette was used consisting of a light champagne color with tones of light blue used primarily for the seating and complements the light wood tiles. The high ceiling was painted with a light concrete texture, adding a slight touch of contemporary industrial accents to the space.

Following last year’s triumph after being highly commended as Best Interior Design Firm of the Year, we find ourselves shortlisted for this prestigious category once again. We have enjoyed a major transformation in the last 12 months as we aim to export our expertise across the region and into Africa and Europe. The last three years have seen us more than double in size with every seat in the office being occupied. This is a huge achievement to have in the palm of our hands as we celebrate our 15th anniversary this year.

The 13th Annual Commercial Interior Design Awards was recently honored as the Best Business Awards Event prize at London’s prestigious Awards Awards 2019 ceremony in May. Judges praised the Middle East’s leading award ceremony for interior design industry professionals, organized by ITP Media Group, for its “innovative ideas”.

The CID Awards celebrates and awards interior designers and firms for excellent work over the last 12 years, and for outstanding performance and contribution to the region’s built environment. We are delighted to take part in this highly reputable event which further celebrates the Middle East’s vibrant and exciting creative design community.

The annual gala ceremony will take place on September 11 at the Joharah Ballroom in Madinat Jumeriah, surrounded by picturesque waterways, palm trees, and Arabic-style architecture.

Good luck to all participants and nominees this year, we will see you at the Awards show!
